The good news is that you don’t need to set aside half a day for the CR7 Museum. We personally think 20 to 30 minutes is enough for most visitors to see everything at a comfortable pace.

The museum is small and focuses mainly on Cristiano Ronaldo’s incredible career achievements. You’ll find plenty of trophies, medals, shirts, photos, and personal memorabilia from his time playing for clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and the Portuguese national team. There are also a few interactive displays and photo opportunities along the way.

If you’re a huge Ronaldo fan, you could easily spend closer to an hour reading every information panel and taking photos with the exhibits. For the average visitor, though, around 20 to 30 minutes is usually enough to waddle through the entire museum, admire the trophy collection, and snap a few pictures before continuing your Madeira adventure.

The CR7 Museum was created by Ronaldo’s elder brother, Hugo, who, during a visit to Ronaldo’s villa in Madrid, observed that his brother’s numerous trophies and memorabilia were scattered around the property. Recognizing the significance of these items, he proposed creating a dedicated space to showcase Ronaldo’s achievements in one place. Thus, the CR7 Museum was born from Hugo’s vision to preserve and celebrate his brother’s remarkable legacy.

The CR7 Museum proudly showcases an array of Cristiano Ronaldo’s team trophies, featuring a mix of authentic originals and meticulously crafted replicas. Among the extensive collection of over 200 trophies, you can marvel at Ronaldo’s illustrious Champions League trophies, four of which he won with Real Madrid and one with Manchester United. You can also see his Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A titles from his time with United, Real, and Juventus.

In front of the museum, you can already get a picture of a bronze statue of Cristiano Ronaldo. Even if you don’t plan to visit the museum itself, chances are you’ll stop here for a photo. The statue stands in Praça CR7, right beside the marina and the CR7 Museum, making it impossible to miss.

The statue was created by Madeiran sculptor Ricardo Velosa and unveiled in 2014 as a tribute to Madeira’s most famous son. Standing around 3.4 meters (11 feet) tall, it celebrates Ronaldo’s journey from a young footballer growing up in Funchal to becoming one of the greatest players in football history.

Over the years, the statue has become a popular meeting point for football fans from around the world. Some visitors love the design, while others debate how closely it resembles Ronaldo, but one thing is certain: it attracts a crowd throughout the day.

As you enter the CR7 Museum, prepare to be immersed in Cristiano Ronaldo’s rise to stardom. Each exhibit chronicles pivotal moments in his illustrious career, from his humble beginnings in Madeira to conquering the world stage. It slowly progresses as you waddle inside, but we are also a little disappointed. We also thought to learn more about his story, as not being a real football fan, a little background story would have been appreciated.

Overall, it is a display of all his trophies, but there are also special ones, like the first one he ever received. We also enjoyed the real-life models of the football stars you can get a picture of, and then, of course, the chocolate statue caught our attention.

A statue of Cristiano Ronaldo made of chocolate and in real size is the creation of the chocolate master Jorge Cardoso, who is of Portuguese origin but works in Switzerland. It took him around 200 hours to complete this masterpiece, which we wanted to bite a piece off.

Whether you are a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo or a football enthusiast, a visit to the CR7 Museum in Funchal, Madeira, is an unforgettable experience. We never even saw so many trophies in one place.

So enjoy the museum and waddle on!
