The Ancient Olive Tree of Avdimou stands quietly on the edge of the village, estimated to be around 700 years old and still very much alive. This olive tree has witnessed centuries of Cypriot history, from medieval times through Ottoman rule to the modern era, and continues to produce olives long after many generations have passed. Its thick, twisted trunk and wide canopy are a reminder of how deeply olive cultivation is woven into Cyprus’s rural life and traditions. During their waddle here, lk_lh_15 and loborosh hid a penguin stone here, leaving a small Lifeguin surprise for anyone who takes the time to look around this ancient guardian of Avdimou. And now with a second guardian, a small penguin.
