In front of Chateau Topoľčianky in Topoľčianky, Slovakia, one of the first things you’ll notice is a peculiar Quercus robur “Fastigiata,” an upright oak with a striking, column-like shape that makes it stand out among the surrounding greenery. Its textured bark adds to its character, and as we admired the tree and the elegant chateau behind it, we couldn’t resist tucking a tiny penguin stone into the bark, leaving a playful little secret for future visitors to discover.
