Štrbské Pleso is one of those places that instantly slows you down. Sitting high in the High Tatras at around 1,350 meters above sea level, this glacial lake is surrounded by spruce forests, mountain air, and views that change with every step around the shore. The water is dark, deep, and mirror calm on quiet days, reflecting the peaks like a perfectly polished postcard. In winter, the lake freezes solid, and the area turns into a classic alpine playground. At the same time, summer brings hikers, gentle lakeside walks, and that unmistakable feeling of being properly up in the mountains. Despite its popularity, it still feels peaceful, especially early in the morning or as the light softens toward evening.
On this adventure, luciakontsek and loborosh carried a little piece of Lifeguin magic with them. A penguin stone joined the journey and found its new home right here at Štrbské Pleso, tucked underneath a rock. If you are wandering around the lake and keeping your eyes open, you might just spot it quietly waiting for its next adventure. 🐧
