As we waddled out of the old town of Dubrovnik, we reached Boninovo Beach. This hidden spot quickly became one of our favorite spots in the city. You have to go down a few stairs to reach it, but that’s what keeps it so quiet, mostly locals, plenty of space to relax, sunbathe, or even grill, with a small table area and a super laid back vibe. It’s also known for small cliff jumps from the rocks above, which we saw locals doing into the clear Adriatic water. Boninovo is part of a rocky coastline just outside the city walls, shaped by natural cliffs and erosion, which is why it feels so tucked away compared to the main beaches. Of course, we couldn’t leave without hiding a special edition penguin stone here before moving on.
