Platzspitz Park in Zurich is a small triangular park right next to the main railway station, sitting between the Sihl and Limmat rivers. With over 450 years of history, it is one of the oldest parks in the city. Platzspitz was also once known worldwide as “Needle Park” during the 1980s and early 1990s, when it became a major open drug scene with thousands of people gathering there daily. The park was eventually closed and restored in 1992.
