Platzspitz Park in Zurich is a small triangular park right next to the main railway station, sitting between the Sihl and Limmat rivers. Despite its central location, it feels like a quiet green escape where people come to relax, walk, or take a break, surrounded by trees and river views. With over 450 years of history, it is one of the oldest parks in the city. It has undergone many transformations, from a medieval gathering space to a modern, peaceful oasis loved by locals and visitors alike. Platzspitz was also once known worldwide as “Needle Park” during the 1980s and early 1990s, when it became a major open drug scene with thousands of people gathering there daily. The park was eventually closed and restored in 1992. Today, you would never guess it was once past, as it has been transformed into a calm, family-friendly space. lk_lh_15 and loborosh hid a penguin stone here in this little park, adding a small and playful secret.
