Set along the emerald waters of the Traunfall Waterfalls, this powerful cascade is one of the most impressive natural sights in Upper Austria. Unlike towering alpine waterfalls, Traunfall is wide and forceful, with the river squeezing through a rocky gorge before tumbling down in a rush of white water. Walking paths and viewing platforms bring you surprisingly close, letting you feel the raw energy of the current. It’s easy to imagine how this spot once challenged timber rafts traveling along the Traun River, where navigating the falls required skill, caution, and sometimes unloading cargo altogether. When lk_lh_15 and loborosh stopped here during their road trip, it was meant to be just a quick break, but the place had a way of pulling them in. Before leaving, they quietly hid one penguin stone near a tree, adding a small piece of their journey to the landscape.
