Ross Castle is a 15th-century tower house set on the edge of Lough Leane. According to legend, it was the last stronghold in Munster to fall during the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland, surrendering only after an unexpected attack by water. With its well-preserved structure and scenic lakeside setting, it remains one of Killarney’s most iconic sights. During a quick stop, lk_lh_15 and loborosh hid a tiny penguin stone here, leaving a little secret for others to discover.
