Bojnice Castle in Bojnice, Slovakia, feels like stepping into a storybook with its towers, turrets, and centuries of history. The castle was originally built in the 12th century and went through many changes over the years. Still, its most striking transformation came under Count János Pálffy in the late 19th century, who remodeled it in a romantic style inspired by the French Loire Valley. It’s one of Slovakia’s most visited castles. It has even served as a backdrop for films and fairy tales, making it a must-see for history lovers and dreamers alike. When we visited, we explored the castle interior and marveled at the grand halls, staircases, and medieval details. Before our tour started, we spent a little time in the courtyard. We discovered the perfect little spot by an iron gate to hide a penguin stone, adding a small, playful touch to our visit and making the day even more memorable.
