Naty’s Caffe Review: A Fluffy Breakfast Waddle in Bratislava
The last time we had fluffy soufflé pancakes was in Prague or Vienna, so when we saw a place dedicated to them opening in Bratislava, we knew we had to waddle over and try it. Naty’s Caffe – The Soufflé Room combines those jiggly pancakes with breakfast, coffee, and a big matcha selection, making it an easy excuse for a morning visit. So, naturally, we went hungry. Here’s what we ordered, how those famous fluffy pancakes turned out, and what we thought of our breakfast at Naty’s Caffe.
First Impressions
Since we don’t live close to the city center, we drove and parked in the private lot next to the former Hotel Kyjev. From there, it was only a short waddle to Naty’s Caffe.
The café already makes a good first impression from the street. Outdoor seating in front looks like a nice option on warmer days, but we decided to have breakfast inside.
Naty’s Caffe is small and cozy, with only a handful of tables, so it feels intimate rather than like a large brunch spot. The interior is clean, neat, and thoughtfully decorated without feeling overcrowded. What immediately caught our attention was the preparation area, where you can see some of the action.
The layout works particularly well for a place built around soufflé pancakes. Instead of hiding everything away in a kitchen, the preparation becomes part of the experience. You can watch the team working while you wait, which also adds a bit of anticipation when you know those ridiculously fluffy pancakes are coming your way.
Overall, our first impression was of a well-organized, clean, and welcoming little breakfast spot that clearly knows what it wants to be. The space may be small, but the setup makes good use of it and puts the food right at the center of attention.

The Experience
We arrived at Naty’s Caffe around 8:00 in the morning, and we appreciated the early opening time. Finding a proper breakfast place in Bratislava that opens as early as 7:00 AM on a weekday isn’t always easy, so this alone makes Naty’s Caffe an interesting option if you are an early-breakfast person like us.
When we waddled in, only two tables were occupied, so we could choose where we wanted to sit. We picked the table near the entrance by the green wall, settled in, and started looking through the menus already waiting on the table.
The beginning of the service was probably the only slightly confusing part of our visit. It was not clear whether we were supposed to order at the counter or wait for table service. We waited for a while, and when nobody came over, we eventually walked up to the counter to order. The waitress then explained that she would come to our table. It was nothing major, especially this early in the morning, but a quick greeting or explanation of how ordering works would have made the start of the experience smoother. Once we returned to our table, our waitress came over shortly after, and we could finally place our order.

What We Ordered
The menu at Naty’s Caffe is compact but surprisingly varied, especially for a café of its size. Soufflé pancakes are naturally the stars, with several sweet combinations to choose from, but the menu goes beyond the fluffy stuff with savory breakfast dishes and lighter options. The drinks selection is equally important, covering the usual coffee choices alongside a particularly large matcha menu, including several flavored combinations.
From a food-review perspective, we liked that the menu doesn’t try to do too much. There is enough choice to make you hesitate for a few minutes, but it still feels focused around breakfast, soufflé, and matcha rather than throwing ten different cuisines onto one menu. It also gives you room to come for something savory, something sweet, or do what we did and start figuring out how much breakfast two people can reasonably order.
Drinks
For drinks, we started with an espresso, which was good. The coffee had a balanced flavor, and the beans worked well for a straightforward espresso, making it probably our favorite drink.
With such an extensive matcha menu, we also tried a matcha latte for €4.50. It was okay, but the matcha didn’t impress us as much as we had hoped. The color was more muted than the vibrant green we normally associate with higher-quality matcha, and the flavor lacked depth.
We also ordered an Earl Grey tea, which came as a standard tea sachet rather than loose-leaf tea. There was nothing wrong with it, but it was very basic. Overall, the drinks were fine but fairly average, especially compared with the stronger breakfast dishes.

One detail that caught our attention was the menu itself. While we usually appreciate menus with photos, some of the food images looked noticeably AI-generated, which gave the menu a slightly cheaper feel that didn’t match the clean, thoughtfully designed café. We also found the wording a little confusing. Some menu items were labeled brunch, so when we arrived early in the morning, we weren’t sure whether those dishes were available for breakfast or only served later in the day. A clearer distinction would make ordering easier, especially for first-time visitors.
Service also had a few small misses. The beginning was slightly confusing because we did not know whether to order at the counter or wait at the table. By the time our soufflé arrived, we had already finished the other two breakfast dishes, and the plates and cutlery had been cleared away. The soufflé then arrived without fresh cutlery, so we had to ask for it before we could dig in. None of these things ruined the breakfast, but together they made the service feel a little less polished than it could be.
Overall, though, we enjoyed our breakfast at Naty’s Caffe, and we are glad we finally tried their soufflé pancakes. The savory breakfast dishes were actually the strongest part of our visit, especially the scrambled eggs with avocado. The soufflé was enjoyable, but considering it is the signature of The Soufflé Room, we expected a little more in terms of fluffiness, presentation, and timing. The drinks were fine, but not memorable.
Would we return? Yes. Probably more for the breakfast than specifically for the soufflé pancakes, but we would happily give the soufflé another chance too. Naty’s Caffe is still new, and most of the issues we noticed are relatively easy things to refine. With its early opening hours, focused breakfast menu and a few dishes we would genuinely order again, there is definitely enough here to give us a reason to waddle back.

Our Verdict
★☆☆
Naty’s Caffe combines a cozy setting, early opening hours, and a focused breakfast menu with its signature soufflé pancakes and a large matcha selection. Surprisingly, the savory breakfast dishes were the highlight for us, especially the scrambled eggs with avocado, where the texture, seasoning, and fresh ingredients all worked together. The soufflé pancakes were enjoyable and worth trying, but the longer wait, presentation, and overall fluffiness did not quite live up to our expectations. Add average drinks and a slightly confusing start to the service, and there is still some room for improvement. Overall, though, we enjoyed our morning here and think it is a welcome addition to Bratislava’s breakfast scene.
Would We Recommend It? ✅ Yes
Best For: Breakfast Lovers • Soufflé Pancake Fans • Early Breakfasts • Matcha Lovers • Couples • Casual Brunch
Less Suitable For: Quick Breakfasts if Ordering Soufflé • Anyone Expecting Ultra-Fluffy Japanese-Style Pancakes • Large Groups • Anyone in a Rush.
Value for Money
Our total for three people came to €32.90, including breakfast dishes, soufflé pancakes and drinks. For a sit-down breakfast in central Bratislava, that works out at roughly €11 per person, which we think is reasonable for what we ordered. The savory breakfast dishes offered the best value, especially given the portion size and ingredient quality. The soufflé pancakes sit at the more expensive end of the menu, and given the long wait and our overall impression of them, we did expect a little more from the café’s signature dish.
Still, €32.90 for breakfast for three people is fair value, especially for a café in the city center. We didn’t leave thinking it was a bargain, but we also didn’t feel we had overpaid.
Things to Know Before You Go
- Best Time to Visit: We visited at around 8:00 AM on a weekday, which worked well. Only a couple of tables were occupied, and we could choose where we wanted to sit. The 7:00 AM weekday opening is a big plus if you are looking for an early breakfast in Bratislava.
- Reservations: Probably not necessary for an early weekday breakfast, but Naty’s Caffe is quite small with only a handful of tables, so we would consider booking or checking ahead for weekends and busier brunch hours.
- Getting There: Naty’s Caffe is at Rajská 7 in central Bratislava. If you are already exploring the city center, it is easy to reach on foot.
- Parking: We came by car and used the private paid parking area next to the former Hotel Kyjev, then walked a short distance to the café. Central Bratislava parking can be tricky, so it is worth planning. Also, we do not recommend that parking space; it is overpriced, and we paid €6.
- Public Transport: The central location makes Naty’s Caffe easy to reach using Bratislava’s trams and buses, followed by a short walk.
- Seating: There are only a few tables inside, plus outdoor seating for warmer days. The indoor space is small and cozy, so it may be less suitable for larger groups.
- Dress Code: Casual is absolutely fine. This is a relaxed breakfast and coffee spot, so there is no need to dress up.
- Experience Tip: Don’t order the soufflé if you are in a rush. The menu says about 25 minutes of prep time, but ours took closer to 40 minutes. Come with enough time to enjoy breakfast without watching the clock.
