As we waddled toward the parking area in Perast, we came across an old tree near a small stone house that instantly caught our attention. The spot felt quiet and slightly hidden from the main paths, with the tree’s thick trunk and roots wrapped around the old stone surroundings, giving it a timeless feel that matches the town’s long maritime history. Perast itself was once an important Venetian-era naval town, and even today, you can still feel that layered history in its architecture and landscape.
We stopped here for a moment and tucked a penguin stone into the hollow of the tree trunk before continuing toward the parking lot, leaving another small surprise behind in this peaceful corner of Montenegro.
