EcoJardin MyeongDong Scalp Treatment Review: Is This Seoul Hair Spa Worth It?
This was already our second week in South Korea, and by then we had ticked off one of the must-dos on our Korea beauty list: a full skin analysis and facial treatment. But since we were still in the country (and fully embracing the self-care culture here), we wanted to make the most of our time and try something new, this time focusing on scalp health. We booked a scalp treatment at EcoJardin MyeongDong, and honestly, we were very happy it wasn’t another trip to Gangnam. Instead, the salon is located right in the heart of lively Myeongdong, making it easy to fit into a day of sightseeing, shopping, or food hopping. Read on to see how our scalp treatment experience went, what the session included, and whether we think it’s worth adding to your Korea itinerary.
EcoJardin MyeongDong is a popular hair and scalp care salon in the heart of Seoul’s busy Myeongdong district, known for its advanced Korean head spa and scalp treatments that go beyond a regular hair wash. The salon specializes in personalized scalp care, combining proprietary stem cell products with premium hair brands such as Shiseido, L’Oréal, and Milbon to deliver deep cleansing, nourishment, and relaxation for both locals and international visitors. Whether you’re booking a multi-step scalp treatment, a haircut, customized coloring, or a perm, EcoJardin combines expert techniques with well-known product lines to offer a complete luxury hair-care experience under one roof.
In addition to the Myeongdong branch, EcoJardin also operates salons in areas like Jamsil (inside Lotte World Tower) and COEX / Samseong, making it easy to book a similar scalp or hair treatment no matter where you’re staying in the city.
How to Book Your Beauty Treatment at EcoJardin MyeongDong
We had been researching beauty treatments in South Korea for quite a while, even before we arrived. Skincare was high on our list, of course, but we also really wanted to experience a proper scalp treatment while we were here. After already traveling to Gangnam earlier in the trip, we didn’t feel like making another long cross-city journey, so we started looking for something more central. We were happy when we found the EcoJardin Myeongdong branch on Instagram, even before our trip.
Booking turned out to be very simple: we sent them a message saying we were interested in a scalp treatment. They have a great website where you can check what they offer (see here), where we already chose what we wanted before writing them. The rest we handled everything directly through Instagram DMs, from the initial inquiry to aligning on the date and time.
What really stood out was how accommodating and responsive they were throughout the process. We reached out roughly one week before the date we were hoping for, so there was still some flexibility to discuss availability. They replied quickly, suggested options, and genuinely tried to fit us in on the dates we preferred. Communication was smooth, friendly, and efficient, and in the end, everything was fully arranged and confirmed simply via Instagram DM. Easy, stress-free, and very traveler-friendly.
How to Get to EcoJardin MyeongDong
Address: 8-10, MyeongDong 8gil, Jung-gu, Seoul (3th floor)
Getting here is very straightforward, especially if you’re already exploring central Seoul. The salon is located right in the heart of Myeongdong, one of the city’s most popular shopping and food areas, and it’s easily accessible by public transport. The closest subway stations are Myeongdong Station (Line 4) and Euljiro 1-ga Station (Line 2), both just a short walk away. From there, it’s simply a matter of navigating the busy streets and heading into the correct building.
Because Myeongdong can be hectic and many buildings look similar from the outside, finding the exact entrance can feel a bit confusing at first. Luckily, EcoJardin has thought of that too. They have a very clear video guide showing exactly where to go and how to find the salon entrance step by step. You can find the link to this video directly on their Instagram profile, and we highly recommend watching it before you arrive. It makes the whole process stress-free and saves you from wandering around with Naver Maps open in a crowded street.
As you know, we were staying at the Lemon Hotel, so the Myeongdong neighborhood wasn’t far from us at all. We actually waddled there on foot from our hotel, which turned out to be a really pleasant walk. It was one of those classic Seoul strolls where you can simply soak in the atmosphere, and of course, we couldn’t resist grabbing some street food along the way. It felt like the perfect prelude, a casual wander, a quick snack, and then straight into a calm, relaxing scalp treatment.
Our Scalp Treatment Experience at EcoJardin MyeongDong
When we arrived at EcoJardin MyeongDong, finding the place was easy thanks to the clear video guide on their Instagram. At reception, we mentioned that we were there for our scalp treatment, and the staff immediately checked us in and asked us to take a seat while they prepared everything. One small but very appreciated detail was the lockers; we could safely put away all the things we didn’t need, which instantly made the whole experience feel more relaxed and organized. After just a short wait, one of the team members came over and handed us a kimono-style cover to wear over our clothes, so we didn’t have to worry about getting anything wet or messy before the treatment even began.

The Scalp Analysis
Once we were all settled in, there was quite a long wait, long enough that we briefly wondered if we had been forgotten. Eventually, though, a team member came to get us, and the first step of the nine-step scalp treatment began: the scalp analysis. Using a tablet and a small camera, they carefully parted our hair and examined different areas of the scalp up close, explaining what they were seeing along the way. They pointed out areas of redness and talked us through what that could mean, which made the whole process feel very informative rather than rushed. After the analysis, they also discussed the treatment plan with us, including what the standard nine-step treatment involved and whether we wanted to add any extras, such as additional shampooing. Since this was our first-ever scalp treatment, seeing our scalp magnified on screen was surprisingly fascinating, and the consultation itself felt insightful and educational before moving on to the hands-on part of the experience.

Cleansing & Exfoliating Oil Massage
After the scalp analysis, we moved on to the next step of the treatment: the cleansing and exfoliating oil massage. This part is designed to gently remove impurities and excess sebum from the scalp while still keeping it hydrated, and you could immediately feel how soothing it was. The therapist worked the oil into the scalp with slow, deliberate movements, and it already felt like our heads were starting to breathe a little more.
Steam Mist
This step was followed by a steam mist session, which helps open up the pores, supports better blood circulation, and allows the products to work more effectively. It was both interesting and a bit funny at the same time, especially seeing each other with our heads surrounded by steam. From this point on, the whole experience shifted into full relaxation mode, and little did we know, it was only going to get even better.

Nourishing Shampoo & Scalp Cleanse
After the steam mist session, we were guided to the washing area for the next step: a nourishing shampoo tailored to each of us. Our heads were gently positioned in the shampoo chairs, and from there the experience became deeply relaxing. Shampooing is usually calming on its own, but this felt extra special, with slow, thorough movements and products that smelled and felt incredibly soothing on the scalp. The combination of shampoo and oils left our hair feeling clean without ever feeling stripped or dry.
One small detail we really appreciated was the face cover they placed over our faces during the wash. It worked like a soft white face mask, protecting our faces so any makeup stayed perfectly intact and didn’t smudge. It might seem minor, but it showed how thoughtful the whole process was, focusing on comfort and practical details as much as the treatment itself.
Waterfall Relaxation Room
Next came our absolute favorite part of the entire treatment: the waterfall room. This step takes place in a separate, softly lit room with a few massage chairs, where you lie back and let the chair do its magic. As soon as we settled in, the waterfall started flowing over our heads, delivering warm water directly onto the scalp. The sensation was incredibly calming, helping to release tension and ease the scalp into a deep state of relaxation. As if the massage chair and waterfall weren’t enough, a team member later came in and gently massaged our heads while the water continued to flow. The combination of the full-body massage chair, the soothing waterfall, and the hands-on scalp massage was pure bliss, honestly, one of the most relaxing moments of our entire trip. The chairs were so good that we even joked about buying one for our home when we get back. If they offered this step alone for a full hour, no shampooing, no extras, just the waterfall and massage, we would happily book it again without hesitation.

Additional Nourishment & Scalp Tonics
Once our time in the waterfall room came to an end (sadly, because we could have stayed there forever), we were taken back to the main salon area. This is where it becomes clear that this place is very much a full hairdresser’s salon, not just a space focused solely on scalp treatments. Around us, haircuts, coloring, and styling sessions were happening, giving the whole space a lively, professional salon atmosphere alongside the more wellness-focused treatments.
Seated in the styling chairs, the next step focused on extra nourishment for the scalp. Based on our earlier analysis, the team applied targeted treatments that deliver additional nutrients tailored to our specific scalp needs. This included nourishing products and a specialized ampoule, chosen to help cleanse, calm, and further nourish the scalp. It felt like a very tailored step, reinforcing that the treatment wasn’t one-size-fits-all, but carefully adjusted to what our scalp actually needed.
Post-Treatment Scalp Check & Hair Styling
After all the treatment steps were completed, we went through a final scalp analysis to compare the results and see how our scalp had improved. Just like at the beginning, the team used a camera to show us the after results, which made it easy to notice changes and better understand how the treatment had worked. It was a nice way to close the loop and see the effects of everything we had just experienced.
The last step before leaving the salon was hair styling, which felt like the perfect finishing touch. We could choose how we wanted our hair styled, straight, softly wavy, or just something simple and natural. In our case, time was a bit tight since the schedule had slipped slightly, so one of my humans ended up with two stylists working at the same time, blow-drying and styling her hair together to get everything done efficiently. It was a bit unexpected but also quite fun, and we walked out feeling fully taken care of from start to finish.

Overall, even though the experience started a little slower and we did have to wait before the treatment fully began, it turned out to be a genuinely enjoyable and relaxing experience. The session also ran a bit longer than the one hour we originally planned for, which meant we had to reshuffle some of our plans afterward. It’s definitely something to keep in mind when booking, allow yourself some buffer time and don’t schedule anything too tight right after. That said, once the treatment is underway, it’s best to fully lean into it. Rushing would really take away from the experience, because the combination of scalp care, massages, and quiet moments is exactly what makes it so special. By the end, our scalps felt refreshed and balanced, and our hair was noticeably softer and super shiny, the kind of result that makes you glad you slowed down and enjoyed every step.
How Much Does a Scalp Treatment Cost in Seoul
In general, scalp treatments in Seoul can vary depending on the salon, location, and the level of in-depthness. A basicscalp cleanse or short head spa session usually starts around ₩80,000–₩120,000. In contrast, more advanced, multi-step scalp treatments at well-known salons often fall between ₩150,000 and ₩250,000 per person, especially in central areas or premium locations.
At EcoJardin MyeongDong, our nine-step scalp treatment came to ₩320,000 total, which was for two people and one penguin. We paid via card and had no issue. Considering how comprehensive the treatment was and how long it actually took, we felt it was very reasonable for the experience and level of care. Payment was made right before leaving the salon, and at that point, you can also purchase the shampoos or products used during your treatment. We didn’t end up buying anything, but it’s nice to know the option is there if you fall in love with a particular product during the session.

Would We Book This Scalp Treatment Again?
Yes, we would. No hesitation here, it’s fully Penguin-approved. The experience was genuinely enjoyable from start to finish, leaving our scalps refreshed and our hair looking healthy and shiny. While the treatment wasn’t quite as detailed or clinical as the skincare experience we had earlier in Gangnam, it didn’t need to be. For a centrally located, stress-free scalp treatment that fits easily into a day in Myeongdong, we’d happily book it again.
