Kapuzinerkloster sits high above Salzburg on the quiet Kapuzinerberg, offering some of the most peaceful views over the Old Town. Founded in the 16th century, the monastery was built on the grounds of an even older medieval fortification, and an interesting fact is that its forested hill is home to a surprisingly large wild chamois population; you can sometimes spot them early in the morning. And because every good adventure needs a little penguin magic, we carried one of our penguin stones on our Salzburg waddle and left it somewhere near the monastery’s walking paths. So while you’re enjoying the calm atmosphere and beautiful view, keep an eye out; one tiny traveler is now hiding up there too.
