The house in Gwanhun-dong is a charming traditional residence tucked away in one of Seoul’s most historic neighborhoods, just a short stroll from the cultural streets of Insadong. What makes places like this so special is how they blend past and present: many of these old hanok-style homes date back to the Joseon era and were once part of a thriving artisan district. An interesting fact is that Gwanhun-dong was historically known for its calligraphy and ink shops, and some of the original family businesses still operate nearby. And in true penguin fashion, a tiny penguin stone is now hidden close to the houses, waiting for the next curious explorer to waddle in and discover it.
