Chateau Hluboká nad Vltavou is one of the most romantic and iconic castles in the Czech Republic, located in South Bohemia. Originally a 13th-century Gothic fortress, it was transformed into a neo-Gothic gem in the 19th century, inspired by Windsor Castle in England. The reconstruction (1841–1871) was led by Viennese architect Franz Beer under Prince Johann Adolf II of Schwarzenberg. The castle features 140 richly decorated rooms, 11 towers, and an extensive English-style park. It was among the first Czech castles to have central heating and running water. As we approached the castle, we found a nice bench to sit on and admire this beautiful building. Behind them is an old tree, and we hid a penguin stone underneath its roots.
