The Little Carpathians (Malé Karpaty) are a beautiful mountain range stretching right to the edge of Bratislava, making them one of the few capital cities in Europe where you can trade city streets for forest trails in just a few minutes. The area is full of scenic hiking paths, vineyards, and castles, offering a peaceful escape for locals and visitors alike. It’s especially magical in autumn, when the hills glow in shades of gold and orange, and the crisp air makes every walk feel refreshing.

On a beautiful Saturday autumn morning, we decided to head out for a waddle to catch some of that final burst of foliage before winter arrives. The forest was calm, leaves crunching under our feet, and sunlight streaming through the trees. As always, we couldn’t leave without a little penguin trace. One of the penguin stones now hides beneath a tree along the main trail, waiting to be found by the next curious explorer.
