Yeongyeong-dang Hall, inside the Secret Garden of Changdeokgung Palace, is a preserved residence built in 1828 for royal family gatherings, performances, and celebrations. It’s one of the rare examples of a Joseon-era noble home designed within a palace complex, blending elegance with simplicity in true Confucian style. An interesting fact: Yeongyeong-dang was used for traditional court dances and music, and its outdoor stage is considered one of the earliest purpose-built performance spaces in Korea. Today, the hall feels peaceful and almost untouched by time, and somewherenearby, you will find a tree, and in its trunk, one of our penguin stones is now hidden, waiting for a curious traveler to findit.
