Myeongdong Cathedral, the first Gothic-style church in Korea, stands above the busy shopping streets of Myeongdong and has been a symbol of faith and resilience since its completion in 1898. The cathedral was built using over half a million handmade bricks, many of which were carried up the hill by volunteers during construction. Today, many come not only for its peaceful interior and beautiful stained-glass windows but also for the quiet courtyard outside, where stone paths and small rock corners offer a moment of calm in the heart of Seoul. And somewhere among those rocks, a tiny penguin stone is hiding, watching the crowds pass by and waiting to be discovered.
