Oybin Castle in Saxony, Germany, is a dramatic ruin perched high on a sandstone rock, overlooking the charming spa town of Oybin. Once a monastery and later a fortress, its crumbling Gothic arches and thick forest surroundings give it a feel that is straight out of a fairy tale. When poppjan came here, it wasn’t just for the history and views, it was for a true adventure. Exploring the winding paths, stone staircases, and quiet corners of the ruins, the visit became even more special when a penguin stone was left behind, adding a playful mark to a place already steeped in centuries of stories.
