As our friends, magic friends, we had no idea that Slovakia had an arboretum, let alone that arboretums even existed. But Arborétum Mlyňany SAV in Vieska nad Žitavou quickly became one of their favorites. It’s a peaceful green oasis with thousands of exotic trees and plants from around the world, a blooming rosarium, a small manor house, quiet lakes, and even a group of friendly cats wandering around. The area is vast, and they never managed to waddle it all in one visit. It’s rarely crowded, which only adds to the calm vibe. There’s also a charming plant shop with prices that haven’t changed in a decade, and a newly opened restaurant next door for a proper meal. They left a penguin stone hidden near the Japanese pond, beside a decorative shelter, tucked away just enough to keep it safe for the next curious explorer.
