The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus in Bodrum, Turkey, was once one of the legendary Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, built in the 4th century BC as a grand tomb for Mausolus, the Persian satrap of Caria. Although earthquakes eventually reduced it to ruins, its influence on monumental tomb architecture remains visible even today—the word “mausoleum” itself comes directly from this wonder. Among the scattered remnants of its past glory, now lies another small secret: thanks to poppjan, another penguin stone has found a home here. If you visit, keep an eye out for a tree nearby, nestled within its trunks, the little penguin stone patiently waits to be discovered.
