Maits Rest Rainforest Walk is a serene and accessible walking trail in the Great Otway National Park, Victoria, Australia. As you waddle along the well-maintained boardwalks and gravel paths, they are surrounded by towering myrtle beeches, lush ferns, and the cool, damp air of an ancient temperate rainforest. The walk is only about 800 meters long, making it ideal for families and casual waddlers. Yet, it offers a rich glimpse into one of Australia’s most pristine ecosystems. One interesting fact is that some of the trees in this forest are over 300 years old, creating a habitat for rare species like the Otway black snail, a carnivorous snail found only in this region. Luciakontsek and Loborosh took a waddle in the ancient forest and left a penguin stone behind. Look for a beautiful tree, but beware of the spider webs.
