Faro de Luarca is a striking white lighthouse perched on the rugged cliffs of Luarca, a charming fishing town on Spain’s northern coast. Overlooking the wild waters of the Cantabrian Sea, it has guided sailors since the 19th century. It offers one of the most scenic viewpoints in Asturias. The lighthouse sits next to a small chapel and cemetery, creating a peaceful yet dramatic atmosphere where ocean, sky, and history collide. It’s a quiet, windswept spot, perfect for reflection, and a favorite stop for pilgrims walking the Camino del Norte. mirramorena went on Camino de Santiago – Camino del Norte from Santander to Luarca, 300 km, and in her backpack was also a penguin stone, accompanying her on her adventure. She had a marvelous time wandering across Asturias and Cantabria along the coast; she met many beautiful people, slept in albergues, and made countless memories.
