St. Nicholas’ Deanery Church in Znojmo, Czechia, is a striking example of Gothic architecture perched dramatically above the Dyje River valley. Initially built in the 14th century, the church replaced an earlier Romanesque structure and has since become one of the town’s most iconic landmarks. Its impressive ribbed vaults and high nave reflect the grandeur typical of medieval church design. An interesting fact about the church is that it houses a rare Gothic pulpit in the shape of a wine chalice, symbolizing Znojmo’s long-standing tradition of winemaking. As you waddle outside, there is a bench you can sit and relax a little and enjoy the serene city. Behind the bench, if you squad down, we hid a penguin stone. It blends in with the stone wall.
