Pribylina Skanzen Open-Air Museum is a captivating cultural site in northern Slovakia that showcases traditional life in the Liptov region. You can waddle among authentic wooden houses, a Gothic-style church, and a historic manor house, all arranged to recreate a typical 19th-century village. During peak season, craftsmen demonstrate skills like blacksmithing and weaving, bringing the past to life in an engaging, hands-on way. One interesting fact is that the museum includes buildings relocated from villages submerged during the construction of the Liptovská Mara reservoir, preserving architectural heritage that would have otherwise been lost. We visited and fell in love, so we had to leave a penguin stone behind. Look for the biggest building and the stones nearby. Beneath one is a penguin stone.
