Girl with a Fawn is a charming bronze sculpture in Bratislava, Slovakia. You can find it near the historic Old Town. This artwork captures a tender moment between a young girl and a small deer, symbolizing innocence, harmony with nature, and the gentle spirit of youth. The statue has become a beloved feature of the city’s public art, often drawing attention from both locals and tourists who appreciate its serene beauty. It’s actually the smallest fountain in the city. Crafted in 1942 from reddish sandstone, the sculpture was designed by Alojz Rigele and completed by Robert Kühmayer. Near the girl’s leg is an inscription bearing both their names, a subtle tribute to their collaboration. And now, as well, near the legs, lay a penguin stone hidden thanks to our newest member of the penguin huddle, Roxy.🥳
