Standing at the viewpoint above Kvívík, you really feel the magic of the Faroe Islands come alive. Below, the little village stretches along the fjord, its turf-roofed houses looking as though they’ve grown straight out of the hillside. The slopes rise steeply on both sides, guiding your eyes toward the open sea where the horizon seems endless. It’s the kind of place where you stop and breathe in the silence, broken only by the sound of wind and distant waves. Watching the light shift across the mountains and water, you can easily imagine why people have called this village home for centuries. It feels both sheltered and connected to the wild Atlantic at the same time. So, of course, we had to leave a penguin stone behind. It is hidden in one of the boulders here.
