Urquhart Castle sits on the banks of Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands, offering stunning views and a glimpse into centuries of turbulent history. Once one of Scotland’s largest castles, it plays a key role in medieval conflicts, particularly during the Wars of Scottish Independence. Today, its dramatic ruins attract thousands who hope to glimpse the legendary Loch Ness Monster. An interesting fact is that in 1692, the castle was deliberately blown up to prevent it from falling into Jacobite hands—leaving behind the iconic ruins that stand today. So, of course, with such a rich history, it deserves to have a penguin stone here. Look between the ruins to find it.You have to waddle through the gate leading to the beach, but turn left and look there. You will find here not an ordinary stone but a golden one. There will be only one in each county.
