Seamans Hut is a remote alpine shelter nestled in the Snowy Mountains of Kosciuszko National Park, Australia. It is along the popular trail to Mount Kosciuszko. It provides vital refuge for hikers and skiers braving the often unpredictable mountain weather. Built from stone in 1929, the hut honors Laurie Seaman, a skier who tragically died in a snowstorm the year before. Interestingly, the hut was constructed entirely by volunteers and funded by public donations, serving as a memorial and a lifesaving sanctuary in one of Australia’s most rugged environments. As luciakontsek and loborosh were waddling Mt. Kosciuszko they stopped at the hut as well to find shelter against the strong wind.
