Pitlochry, a charming town in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, offers stunning views, a rich history, and a warm welcome to visitors year-round. Surrounded by rolling hills and lush forests, it is especially popular for outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, and salmon fishing on the River Tummel. One interesting fact about Pitlochry is that it is home to a unique hydroelectric dam and fish ladder, where you can watch salmon leap upstream during migration season. This blend of natural beauty and engineering makes Pitlochry a fascinating and picturesque stop in Scotland. We stopped here for a short break on the way back to Edinburgh. The town is charming, and they have a great whisky ice cream. In a tree trunk, we hid one penguin stone close to the train restaurant. Or the ancient walls.
