The Blue Mosque in Yerevan, Armenia, is a striking example of 18th-century Persian architecture and remains the only active mosque in the country today. You can find it in the city’s heart; the mosque features a large central dome and a peaceful inner courtyard surrounded by ornate arcades and gardens. Built in 1766 during Persian rule, it now serves as a place of worship and a cultural center. An interesting fact is that the mosque’s functioning was restored in the 1990s with support from Iran, making it a rare symbol of Islamic heritage in a predominantly Christian nation. Thanks to Brix, now a penguin stone resides within its walls.
