We went to Kreuzenstein Castle as one of our weekend trips as it is very close to Austria. It looked amazing in the pictures and even better in real life. It is near Leobendorf in Lower Austria and is a unique reconstruction of a medieval fortress dating back to the 12th century. An interesting fact about this castle is that it was rebuilt in the late 19th century by Count Johann Nepomuk Wilczek, who was inspired by the romantic ideals of the era. He incorporated architectural elements from various medieval European structures, making Kreuzenstein a unique blend of historical styles and periods. The castle also served as a filming location for numerous movies and TV shows like The Witcher. So, of course, we needed to leave a penguin stone behind. It is now located at the wall close to the entrance.
