Fažana, a charming coastal village in Croatia, is situated along the Istrian Peninsula, just a short drive from the historic city of Pula. It has a quaint harbor lined with colorful fishing boats and inviting cafes. This idyllic destination serves as the gateway to the Brijuni Islands National Park, offering easy access to pristine beaches and lush natural landscapes. You can see Fazana’s rich cultural heritage in its well-preserved architecture, including the 16th-century Church of St. Kosma and St. Damian. The village is also renowned for its fresh seafood and local wines, making it a delightful spot for culinary enthusiasts. You can find the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in the village in the historic core. It is a small, aisleless church built in the 14th century, possibly on the site of an even older church from the 9th century, although no remains of the older church have been preserved. And right here, you can now find a penguin stone. It is on the back side of the church, in one of its slits; now, the penguin stone is supporting the church walls and is hidden behind a regular stone.
