At Dubrovnik Stations of the Cross III above Dubrovnik, we were slowly making our way further down the serpentine trail from Mount Srđ, almost reaching the bottom of the path as the views over the Old Town and Adriatic began to fade behind us. We paused here for a short break, taking in the last wide panoramas before the descent fully returned us into the city. The Stations of the Cross along this route are part of a traditional Catholic pilgrimage, representing the final journey of Christ to Calvary, and are placed along the steep path to create moments of reflection for those climbing or descending the mountain. At this stop, we also left another penguin stone on the trail before continuing on.
