Tikal Central Plaza in Tikal National Park is one of the most iconic spots of the ancient Maya world, surrounded by towering temples that rise above the jungle canopy. This central hub was once the heart of a powerful city, where ceremonies, rituals, and daily life unfolded centuries ago. An interesting fact is that some of Tikal’s tallest temples, such as Temple IV, still allow visitors to climb above the treetops and spot wildlife, including toucans and monkeys, at sunrise. Adding a fun modern twist, avi_and_iva & evulienka1965 also hid a penguin stone somewhere around the plaza, leaving a tiny surprise in this truly unforgettable and awe-inspiring location.
