The bike trail from Chmeľnica to Stará Ľubovňa is one of the newest and most pleasant cycling routes in northern Slovakia. Officially opened in 2021, this smooth asphalt path follows the Poprad River valley. It connects small villages with the historic town of Stará Ľubovňa. The route is family-friendly, mostly flat, and offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills and meadows of the Spiš region. Along the way, you will pass quiet countryside scenes, grazing horses, and wooden bridges that make the ride feel peaceful and unhurried. About halfway through, you will find a simple wooden bench perfectly placed for a little break to enjoy the fresh air and mountain views. And if you look closely nearby, inside a tree trunk close to the bench, you might discover a small secret. We hid one of our penguin stones there, quietly watching over the trail and waiting for the next curious explorer to spot it.
