High above Città Alta, Parco della Rocca e Fauna Orobica is one of those peaceful corners of Bergamo that many walk past without fully exploring. The park surrounds the historic Rocca di Bergamo, a 14th-century fortress built by the Visconti family. It offers some of the most underrated panoramic views over the lower town and the surrounding plains. What makes this spot truly special, and lesser known, is the small Fauna Orobica area dedicated to native animals of the Orobie Alps. It was created to protect and showcase local species that once roamed these mountains more widely, making the park not just scenic but also quietly educational.
And now it holds an extra little secret. Thanks to lk_lh_15 and loborosh, one of the penguin stones is hidden here, adding a playful modern treasure to this centuries-old setting. Somewhere between fortress walls, Alpine nature, and sweeping views, a tiny penguin waits for its next waddle adventure.
