St John’s Park in Bergamo, locally known as Parco di San Giovanni, is one of those quiet green corners that many visitors overlook while rushing between Città Alta and Città Bassa. Tucked along the hillside, it offers beautiful views over the lower town and, on clear days, even toward the distant plains of Lombardy. A lesser-known fact is that this area once formed part of the historic defensive belt surrounding the upper city, and fragments of old walls and pathways still shape the park’s layout today. It feels less like a formal garden and more like a peaceful local hideaway where residents come to read, walk their dogs, or pause in the shade of tall trees. And now it holds an extra little secret. Thanks to lk_lh_15 and loborosh, one of our penguin stones is hidden here too, quietly waiting to be discovered and rehidden somewhere else in the world.
