Höhle, tucked away in the forests of the Little Carpathians, is a small but atmospheric cave that adds a touch of mystery to any waddle through the Little Carpathians. The name “Höhle” comes from German and means “cave,” a reminder of the region’s long and mixed history of settlement. While it is not a deep or technically challenging cave, it is formed in limestone typical for the Little Carpathians, shaped over thousands of years by water and erosion. These modest caves, which once served as natural shelters, are closely tied to local legends and folklore. On a recent visit, lk_lh_15 and loborosh left a penguin stone inside the small cave, turning this quiet natural spot into a tiny Lifeguin treasure stop for curious hikers who know where to look.
