N Seoul Tower, atop Namsan Mountain, is one of Seoul’s most iconic viewpoints, offering sweeping panoramas of the entire city. Built in 1969 as a broadcast tower, it later opened to the public and quickly became a symbol of Seoul’s skyline. The tower stands 236 meters tall, but when combined with Namsan Mountain’s elevation, it reaches an impressive total of nearly 480 meters above sea level, offering one of the highest accessible viewpoints in the capital. As you wander around the observation decks and the famous love locks area, keep an eye out, somewhere near the paths and railings, a little penguin stone is quietly hiding, soaking up the views and waiting for the next traveler to discover it. Look for the pavilion and where the benches are. There in the wall is where it is hiding.
