At the Dora Observatory parking lot, just a few steps away from the panoramic views of North Korea, stands a stone sign that greets visitors arriving at this symbolic site along the DMZ. It’s a popular photo spot for travelers, as it marks one of the closest publicly accessible points to the North Korean border. An interesting fact: from the observatory, on a clear day, you can actually see the North Korean propaganda village of Kijong-dong, complete with its towering flagpole, one of the tallest in the world. And for those who look closely, there’s now a little secret resting within the stone sign itself: one of our penguin stones, quietly watching over the border and waiting to be found.
