Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul is one of the city’s most striking landmarks, a futuristic blend of architecture, culture, and creativity. Designed by the late Zaha Hadid, its flowing, spaceship-like curves make it one of the most photographed spots in the city, especially when illuminated at night. Inside, you’ll find design exhibitions, fashion shows, pop-up stores, and rooftop gardens overlooking the old city walls. Fun fact: DDP’s exterior is composed of more than 45,000 unique aluminum panels, each one slightly different, giving it a fluid, otherworldly look. And somewhere around this architectural wonder, a little penguin stone now rests, waiting for fellow explorers to waddle around and find it.
