What instantly drew us in was its clean, cozy design, well-equipped rooms with kitchenettes, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. With a café downstairs, friendly staff, and easy access to both the airport and downtown, CPH Studio Hotel is the ideal base for exploring Copenhagen; practical, modern, and full of that effortless Danish cool.
CPH Studio Hotel opened its doors in 2017 as part of Copenhagen’s growing wave of modern, design-focused yet affordable accommodations. You can find it in the Amager East district. It was created to reflect the city’s minimalist aesthetic, clean lines, natural light, and functional spaces that make Scandinavian design so loved around the world. The hotel sits in a former industrial area that has transformed into one of Copenhagen’s trendiest neighborhoods, filled with cafés, creative studios, and seaside promenades. Its interiors were designed with sustainability and simplicity in mind, featuring Danish-made furniture by HAY, one of Denmark’s leading contemporary design brands.

One of the things we appreciated most about CPH Studio Hotel was its fantastic location. Right in the Amager East district, it perfectly balances calm seaside vibes with easy access to the city center. The Øresund metro station is just a 3-minute waddle from the hotel, and from there it takes only about 10 minutes to reach Kongens Nytorv, the heart of Copenhagen. It couldn’t be easier to explore the main sights while still staying in a quieter, more local, and affordable neighborhood.
What we especially loved was being so close to Amager Strandpark, Copenhagen’s beautiful beachfront promenade. It’s just a 5-minute waddle away, ideal for a morning stroll, a sunset bike ride, or even a quick swim on sunny days. After busy hours in the city, coming back to this peaceful area felt like a little retreat. The combination of urban convenience and seaside relaxation is what we appreciated at the CPH Studio Hotel’s location.
Hotel Surroundings
- Shopping Opportunities Nearby. CPH Studio Hotel sits in a neighborhood that blends local life with modern style. While it’s not a classic shopping district, you’ll find Amagerbro’s main street just a short waddle away, lined with boutiques, design stores, and cozy cafés. We also found a convenience store close by for some basics.
- Cultural Sites. The metro connects you quickly to the city center, where you can explore landmarks like the Nyhavn harbor, Christiansborg Palace, and Amalienborg, home of the Danish royal family. Even nearby, there’s plenty to see. The National Aquarium Denmark (Den Blå Planet) is just one metro stop away, and Refshaleøen, known for its street food market Reffen and creative art spaces, is a short bike ride from the hotel.
- Dining Options. For dining, you don’t have to go far. Bistro Couloir, the hotel’s on-site restaurant, serves a delicious breakfast each morning (07:00–10:00) and cozy dinners in the evening (17:00–22:00), just steps from reception. If you feel like venturing out, Pomodoro D’oro offers excellent Italian dishes. For something a bit different, Sticks’n’Sushi Amager Strandvej is just a short walk away and combines sushi with Japanese-style grilled skewers in a modern setting. And for a relaxed coffee or light bite, No 95 En Kaffebar nearby is the perfect little café to start your day or unwind after exploring Copenhagen.
Check-In Experience
We waddled in after our travel day and were surprised by how fast, efficient, and genuinely friendly the check-in was. The staff greeted us with warm smiles and a calm, professional attitude that immediately made us feel at ease. Everything was clearly explained, from how to access our room and connect to the Wi-Fi to breakfast times and nearby transport tips. What we really appreciated was that nothing felt rushed, just smooth, welcoming, and effortless. It’s the kind of service that makes you feel like you’ve made the right choice. The process was easy and stress-free with staff who are always ready to help. It truly set the tone for a comfortable and relaxed stay in Copenhagen.
The hotel offers a 24-hour reception, so whether you arrive late or early, someone is always on staff to assist. Check-in officially starts at 4:00 PM (though early check-ins may be accommodated when possible), and check-out is by 11:00 AM. The reception also handles luggage storage for guests arriving before check-in or departing after check-out, which we found super convenient.



Room and Amenities
CPH Studio Hotel has 149 newly renovated rooms and apartments, each designed with Scandinavian minimalism and functionality in mind. We stayed in a first-floor studio with a kitchenette built into the space, perfect for light meals or brewing your own coffee. The room felt airy and clean, with a comfortable queen-size bed topped with a medium-firm mattress that struck a nice balance between softness and support. A few thoughtful touches, like a small dining nook, under-counter fridge, stovetop, and essential cookware, made the space feel more like a cozy apartment than a typical hotel room.
The bathroom in our room was modern, compact, and spotless, just what you’d expect from a Scandinavian-style hotel. It featured a walk-in shower with great water pressure, soft towels, and practical amenities like a hairdryer, mirror light, and eco-friendly toiletries. We especially appreciated how well the space was laid out, making it functional without feeling cramped. The cleanliness of both the bathroom and the room overall was excellent; everything felt fresh, tidy, and well-maintained throughout our stay. Housekeeping did a great job keeping things organized, and coming back to a clean, comfortable room each evening added to the relaxed, homey feeling we loved about CPH Studio Hotel.





Culinary Experience
CPH Studio Hotel has its own on-site restaurant and bar, Bistro Couloir, which serves both breakfast and dinner in a cozy, stylish setting just next to the reception. Breakfast is available daily from 7:00 to 10:00 AM, offering a classic Scandinavian spread, fresh bread, pastries, fruit, cheeses, and hot dishes. Although we didn’t try the breakfast ourselves, it looked absolutely inviting every time we passed by; the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the neatly arranged buffet made it hard to resist. In the evening, the bistro transforms into a relaxed dining spot serving seasonal dishes and drinks, perfect for those who prefer to unwind without heading into the city. Even if you choose to eat elsewhere, it’s lovely to have such a convenient option right inside the hotel.




Facilities and Services
One thing we appreciated about CPH Studio Hotel was how well-equipped it is for a comfortable, longer stay. The hotel offers a small but functional gym, perfect for keeping up your workout routine while traveling. It’s fitted with essential equipment like treadmills, free weights, and mats. It is bright, clean, and rarely crowded, which makes morning workouts a pleasant start to the day. Another great convenience is the self-service laundry room, ideal for those on extended trips. It has modern washers and dryers, detergent dispensers, and clear instructions, making laundry quick and easy. Both facilities are spotless and well-maintained, showing how the hotel balances style with practicality, just what you need for a relaxed and convenient stay in Copenhagen.



Rooftop Terrace
Our absolute favorite part of CPH Studio Hotel was the rooftop terrace, which became our go-to spot to unwind after a day of waddling around Copenhagen. With cozy seating, open views over the Amager district, and a gentle sea breeze drifting in from nearby Amager Strandpark, it’s the perfect place to relax with a drink, read, or watch the sunset paint the sky. The atmosphere up there felt calm and private, almost like a bit of escape above the city.

We stayed at CPH Studio Hotel from June 24 to 27, three nights in total, and paid €364.45 for two people. For what we got, the value was excellent. The room was modern, spacious, and included a kitchenette, which helped us save on meals. The location near both the metro station and Amager Beach Park made getting around easy, and the overall comfort level was high for the price range. Considering Copenhagen’s usually higher accommodation costs, CPH Studio Hotel felt like a smart, budget-friendly choice that didn’t compromise on style or convenience.
