Between the bush and the beach, Saadani Safari Lodge in Tanzania is one of those rare spots where you can watch elephants wander past in the morning and dip your toes in the Indian Ocean by the afternoon. The area has an intriguing backstory as well—back in the 19th century, Saadani was a bustling Swahili trading town, once tied to ivory and enslaved person routes, before the land was later protected as a national park. These days, it’s all about wildlife, waves, and that easy safari vibe. And if you look closely, you might stumble across a little surprise— poppjan and Petra left a penguin stone here, quietly soaking up the sun and sea breeze in a tree.
