At the Giant’s Causeway in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, nature showcases one of its most spectacular wonders: over 40,000 interlocking basalt columns formed by volcanic activity approximately 60 million years ago. Legend, however, attributes a more mythical origin to it: the Irish giant Fionn mac Cumhaill supposedly built the causeway to cross the sea and confront his Scottish rival, Benandonner. Whether you believe in geology or giants, the site is a place where history, myth, and raw beauty collide.
