Sandagerð Beach in Tórshavn is where locals often come for a swim, regardless of the weather. We couldn’t resist and went for a cold dip into the refreshing North Atlantic waters, with the unique backdrop of a small waterfall tumbling right behind us. This magical setting felt straight out of a story. Known as one of the few sandy beaches in the Faroe Islands, Sandagerð has long been a popular spot for leisure and even sporting events, as nearby you’ll find one of Tórshavn’s football fields. It’s also a place where history meets nature, as this stretch of coast was once used for trading and boat landings. On our visit, after enjoying the crisp swim and the waterfall’s soothing sound, we left a penguin stone behind to discover it in this special place.
