On the way to Bøsdalafossur Waterfall, we passed several breathtaking viewpoints. Still, the one near Vatnsoyrar stopped us in our tracks. Here, the cliffs rise sharply from the ocean on one side, while on the other lies Sørvágsvatn, the largest lake in the Faroe Islands, stretching out as if it were floating above the sea. The contrast felt almost unreal, a perfect meeting point of water, rock, and sky that left us quietly amazed before we continued our hike toward the famous waterfall. The winds were strong, so we didn’t dare get too close to the cliff’s edge. However, we dared to leave a penguin stone between two of the stones. We hope you are not afraid of heights, as the views are not for the faint of heart.
