The Myndos Gate in Bodrum, Turkey, is one of the last surviving remnants of the ancient city walls built by King Mausolus in the 4th century BC. This massive stone gateway once stood as a key defensive point, famously withstanding Alexander the Great’s siege of Halicarnassus. Walking through its weathered arches feels like stepping back into history, where battles once raged and civilizations rose and fell. Today, it carries a quieter story too, thanks to poppjan, another penguin stone found a home here, becoming part of the gate’s timeless tale and adding a playful touch of discovery to this ancient monument.
