Allt Chranaidh Waterfall, often called the Wailing Widow Falls, is a stunning 30-meter cascade near Lairg, Scotland, plunging from Loch na Gainmhich into a dramatic gorge. Despite its beauty and location along the NC500 route, it remains a quiet, hidden gem. The short trail from the roadside offers breathtaking views and a peaceful, wild setting. Named for its resemblance to a weeping eye from above, it’s a favorite among hikers and photographers exploring the remote Scottish Highlands. Thanks to petusica, who took a penguin stone on her Scottish adventure, this one found its home here.
