Best Restaurants in the Czech Republic: Where to Eat Across Prague, Brno & Beyond
We’ve been to the Czech Republic several times, and one thing we’ve never skipped is the food. From small-town taverns to city bistros, we’ve tried everything from roasted duck and svíčková to modern takes on traditional dishes. Some places were good. Some were… just okay. But a handful of restaurants stuck with us, for the flavor, the vibe, the service, and that feeling you get when everything just clicks. These are the spots we keep coming back to, or tell friends about when they ask where to eat in the Czech Republic. Whether you’re planning your first visit or going back for more, these are the restaurants we genuinely recommend. Bookmark the post, as we are always adding more and updating.

Best Places to Eat in Bohemia
BeerPoint Bistro 53 in Český Krumlov
We started our South Bohemia journey in Český Krumlov, and BeerPoint Bistro 53 was our very first stop, no pressure, right? But it nailed it. From the moment we waddled in, the lid-back Czech Bohemian vibe hit us. The service matched the setting, friendly, genuine, and easygoing. We ordered the wrap, and no kidding, this was the best wrap we’ve ever had. The tortilla was soft but sturdy, keeping all the fillings cozy; inside, fresh ingredients exploded with flavor. As we took a bite, the salad was nice and crunchy. Everything was perfectly seasoned, so each bite felt intentional. And the fries… wow. Not just your average side, they had this crisp, golden texture that kept us dipping, even after dessert. Seriously, we’d come back just for those fries. And let’s not forget the
beer selection and casual atmosphere, but coming from us, Bistro 53 truly delivers. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s where excellent service, a relaxed vibe, and unexpected culinary hits come together. For us, BeerPoint Bistro 53 set the tone for our entire Český Krumlov adventure, and we couldn’t recommend it more. For lunch for two with beverages, we paid 850.00 Kč (approximately €34.45), which is an excellent price.

Drunken Coffee in Český Krumlov
After waddling through the castle grounds and climbing the tower, we needed a break, somewhere quiet, chill, and with good coffee. That’s when we found Drunken Coffee, and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect.
The place itself is cozy inside, but what made it special for us was the outdoor garden seating. You sit there, coffee in hand, looking straight at the Český Krumlov castle tower. It’s one of those views you don’t forget. There’s this peaceful, tucked-away vibe to it that makes you want to linger. We ordered iced coffee drinks, and everything was spot-on. The refreshments were super refreshing (pun intended) after the waddling we did. It turned out to be one of the most beautiful and relaxing spots we found in Český Krumlov. If you’re looking for a quiet moment with a view, great coffee, and something sweet, Drunken Coffee is the place. We highly recommend it. For two people, we paid 300.00 Kč (about €12.16).

Restaurace 99 in Český Krumlov
Craving a break from the winding streets of the old town, we decided to venture just a little further and headed uphill to Restaurace 99. The waddle might feel like a mini trek, but once you arrive, you’re greeted with sweeping views over the rooftops and the Vltava. Instantly, the atmosphere wraps around you: it’s chill, sunny, Italian‑terrace vibes, but surprise, it’s actually all-American barbecue. We ordered the wings and the burger, and honestly, we were blown away. The wings came out perfectly crispy with just the right kick of spice, and the burger? Juicy, flavorful, stacked high, and exactly what we wanted after a day exploring the castle. Between the laid-back tables, string lights, and the golden light hitting the hillside, the outdoor setting felt like stepping into an easy summer evening. As we are in Czechia, the craft beer selection and the friendly, relaxed service are something we wholeheartedly appreciated. The staff was warm and helpful, and the laid-back feel made it easy to linger. For us, Restaurace 99 delivered comfort food with style, scenery, and spirit. If you’re okay with a short stroll uphill, this place is well worth it, and we’d go back in a heartbeat. For this lunch we paid 1,050.00 Kč (about €42.56).

U Bejka in Český Krumlov
If you’re in the mood for something a little less polished and a little more local, U Bejka hits that sweet spot. It’s not a restaurant in the classic sense, more of a laid-back Czech pub where you go for the beer, the buzz, and a few casual bites. We popped in for a quick break and ordered some typical Czech beer snacks, the kind that show up perfectly when you’re already holding a pint. As expected in Czechia, the beer selection was top-notch, fresh, cold, and very reasonably priced. That alone earns it solid points. The snacks that came along were good, not mind-blowing, but definitely enjoyable. We’ve had better in other spots, but for what it is, a chill pub with a local feel, it totally worked.
The vibe inside is no-frills and authentic, and that’s exactly what makes it charming. It has that classic Czech Bohemian pub energy, where you can settle in for a drink or two and just enjoy the atmosphere. If you’re looking to get a taste of the local scene beyond tourist-packed places, U Bejka is definitely worth a visit. For two beverages and snacks, we paid 400.00 Kč (about €16.21).

Best Places to Eat in Moravia
Restaurace Corrida in Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou
We stumbled upon Restaurace Corrida during a road trip while we tried to visit the Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou castle, which was unfortunately closed due to filming. As we were still hungry, we decided to grab lunch and ended up at the Restaurant Corrida. It is much more spacious than it looks from the road, with multiple entrances (two or even three) leading into different sections. We parked in a small lot near what appeared to be a back entrance and then made our way through the interior to settle on the sunny terrace outside. The outdoor seating is a real perk, bright and airy, perfect for a relaxed midday break. It’s a family-friendly spot, too: there’s a small play area where kids can hang out while parents enjoy their meal.
We chose from the ready-made menu: fried cauliflower, boiled potatoes, and a comforting soup. The flavors took us right back home, the kind of food your grandmother might make and bring over. It was simple, honest, and delicious, everything you want from a traditional Czech lunch.
For us, Restaurace Corrida hit the mark as a comfortable and tasty stop in Jaroměřice. If you’re passing through and want a hearty, home-style meal with outdoor space and good vibes, this spot is worth pulling over for. For our lunch and beverages, we paid 433.00 Kč (about €17.55). Amazing price for such a meal. And visit the castle for sure when you’re here.

Enotéka in Znojmo
Although this is not per se a restaurant, we stumbled upon Enoteca in Znojmo, and let us tell you, it’s not your typical wine experience, unlike any other. Think wine bar meets tasting room meets party venue, all under one stylish roof. The concept? Brilliant. You buy a prepaid credit card, get a wine glass, and you’re free to explore a lineup of over 100 wines by yourself. Each wine station has its own tap, and you serve yourself, simple, flexible, and fun. Curious about local reds or whites? Pour, taste, move on. It’s hands-on, social, and surprisingly polished.
The space matches the idea: modern, open, with cozy nooks and long communal tables, perfect for a casual date, a big family celebration, or even a corporate event. We can picture birthday parties, company tastings, or holiday gatherings coming to life in this light and airy setting. The vibe is upbeat but relaxed, with people chatting over sips, sampling flights, and discovering new favorites. Service was great, too. Staff members were happy to explain grape varieties, suggest pairings, and even help with our credits. They kept everything tidy and welcoming, which made the visit feel smooth and enjoyable. If you want to sample a wide variety of South Moravian wines, polish off a few tasty bites (yes, they offer cakes and small snacks!), and soak in a lively atmosphere, Enoteca is the place. Even though it’s not a full-service restaurant, it delivers an experience, a wine lover’s playground we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. We paid 200.00 Kč for two glasses (about €8.11). That’s like a starter, but you can always add more credit.

ReZtaurace in Znojmo
Right next to the Enoteca wine bar and as part of the Znojmo brewery complex, ReZtaurace caught our eye while we were strolling around looking for a good summer lunch spot. The inside seating looks great—classic and stylish, but since it was a sunny afternoon, we chose to sit outside on the terrace, which was buzzing with people. Even though it was packed, we were honestly blown away by how fast everything happened. We placed our order and, no joke, within eight minutes, our food was on the table. In a busy restaurant. In summer. That kind of speed deserves serious credit, and somehow, nothing felt rushed or sloppy. The kitchen staff must run like clockwork.
We went for some traditional Czech dishes and couldn’t resist ordering homemade chips, which are one of those little Czech pub treats we always crave. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. The chips were golden, crisp, and not greasy, exactly how they should be. The rest of the food hit all the right notes: hearty, delicious, and satisfying. Of course, as it is part of the local brewery, the selection of beers is wide.
Service was just as impressive as the kitchen, friendly, fast, and organized. You don’t always find that combo when a place is this busy. For us, Reztaurace nailed it. Great location, fast service, tasty food, and the bonus of being steps away from Znojmo’s wine scene. We give it a solid high rating and would recommend it if you’re passing through. For the food and beers for two people and one penguin, we paid 800.00 Kč |(about €32.43).

Mikuláš Bistro in Znojmo
You can find this magical spot near the Church of St. Nicholas. Mikuláš Bistro ended up being our favorite place in all of Znojmo. It’s the kind of spot you stumble into and immediately think, “If I ever open my own little café or bistro, this is exactly how I’d want it to feel.” Cozy, charming, a little artsy, and full of warmth.
The indoor seating is intimate and beautifully styled, but since the weather was perfect, we sat outside in the garden-like setting. It’s lush, green, and peaceful, the kind of place where time slows down just enough. Every corner felt thoughtful, from the stylish details to the laid-back vibe that made us feel right at home.
We ordered drinks and coffee (which was great), and then gave in to the display of cakes, and we’re so glad we did. The cakes were not only beautiful but also delicious. Fresh, not overly sweet, and made with care. Every bite felt like it was made in someone’s home kitchen, not in bulk.
The best part? The price. For two people and one penguin, we paid just 345 CZK (around €14), which is honestly amazing for the quality and the experience.
If you’re in Znojmo, Mikuláš Bistro isn’t just worth a visit, it’s a must. Come for the coffee and cake, stay for the feeling. We’ll be back.

Marriel Restaurant in Znojmo
The last stop on our Znojmo food journey was Marielle Restaurant, located right inside the Hotel Marielle, where we were staying. Since it was our final day in town, we figured it made sense to try what the in-house kitchen had to offer, and it turned out to be a solid, relaxed option.
The restaurant sits just off the hotel lobby on the ground floor, and you can choose between indoor seating or the outdoor terrace. Naturally, the sun was out, so we went for the outdoor seating again, which was quiet and peaceful, with a nice breeze rolling in.
We ordered two different mains and drinks to go with them. The menu offered a decent variety, ranging from meat dishes to vegetarian options, as well as a few desserts: nothing too fancy or overcomplicated, but a good mix to satisfy different cravings. The service was fine, polite, and straightforward, and the vibe matched: calm, comfortable, and unhurried.
The only thing to note is that the food didn’t come out as quickly as it had at some of the other places we tried in Znojmo. Not a big issue, just something to keep in mind if you’re in a rush. That said, when it arrived, the food was fresh, well-prepared, and enjoyable.
All in all, Marielle Restaurant is a convenient choice if you’re staying at the hotel or just nearby and looking for a no-fuss meal in a lovely setting. While there are some more exciting or memorable spots in Znojmo to explore, this one still stands out as a comfortable and reliable place to eat. For two people and one penguin, we paid 800.00 Kč (about €32.43).
